St Patricks Cathedral
Restoration of front entrance windows and frames using oil through four stages.
Restoration of interior walls in cathedral. Damaged due to moisture trapped in the substrate due to earthquake strengthening. As the exterior was painted with a membrane the moisture had no way to leave other than through the interior walls. After stripping all existing flaking paintwork, areas were plastered with gypsum. The paint finish consisted of using specialty Keim whereby the product is actually breathable which allows trapped moisture to exit without damaging the paint.
Exterior restoration of rotten window courtesy of Graham Ball building and Heritage Building Services. Finished in Keim membrane product.
