Highwic Historical Gothic House
Begun in 1862, Highwic is one of New Zealand's finest timber gothic houses. Now operated by New Zealand Historic Places Trust, it serves as a museum and a function centre.
Board and battens, fascias and soffits brought in acrylic satin finishes. Moving joinery, posts and balustrades brought in full-gloss enamels.
Ceilings brought in flat enamel, board and batten and tongue and groove walls brought in semi-gloss enamel as are frames, doors and windows. Colours were matched as closely as possible to the original through the use of paint analysis scrapings.
Double lined ceiling finished in traditional distemper as are the walls. All joinery finished in semi-gloss enamel. All colours matched to original colours using paint analysis.
