1859 Melanesian Mission Dining Hall Auckland
Constructed from volcanic rock from nearby Rangitoto Island, the building started life as a christian educational facility for Melanesian boys. Now controlled by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust it is currently being used as an iconic Auckland cafe. All joinery including fascias, soffits, frames, windows and doors were finished in durable full-gloss enamel. No stone was harmed in this exercise!
